Vibert Noble | Eclipse Chaser

Vibert Noble is a keen eclipse chaser and has travelled to locations including Mexico, the United States, the Faroe Islands, Cornwall, Antarctica and Indonesia in a bid to see some spectacular solar eclipses. He has further trips to Spain, Egypt, and Australia or New Zealand planned in 2026, 2027 and 2028 respectively to (hopefully) witness future expected eclipses. Vibert is also a keen stargazer, both at home and when he’s away; he always packs an 80 mm refractor telescope or 15 x 50 IS pair of binoculars in his suitcase.

About Vibert

For the last four years Vibert has lived with his wife in the Vale of Belvoir, a beautiful lowland region in the East Midlands that takes its name from the stunning view from Belvoir Castle, a fortress which dates back to Norman times. Vibert enjoys walking in his local area and is a member of his local theatre and independent cinema. Alongside his wife, he enjoys regularly attending concerts at the Union Chapel to make the most of its beautiful and intimate atmosphere.

Charity Supporter

Supporting charities is important to Vibert and, to this end, he makes regular donations to both the UN Food Programme’s ShareTheMeal initiative and the Mercy Rescue Trust in Kenya. The latter is a baby rescue centre in Kitale; the organisation has rescued over 400 babies to date, fostered 269 infants within the local community and reunited 114 babies with their families.

Travelling

Vibert loves to travel and regularly visits the La Palma in the Canary Islands, which is one of the smallest islands in the chain. Here, he enjoys the lovely walks and dark night skies: perfect to enjoy his hobby of star gazing. For the last four years Vibert has been learning Spanish, which he hopes will be helpful during these holidays. He also visits Lapland in January every year to experience the changing of the seasons (Lapland has eight) from polar night to midwinter and try cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Vibert has also taken a recent trip to Svalbard, enjoyed several US road trips and taken a train journey from Chicago to San Francisco on the California Zephyr.
